Abide - John 15Sample

Thank you for joining us for this week in John 15. This chapter has been an important one for our church and inspired the Local Sound song “Abide.” Throughout the week we will be referencing the song as well as diving into the passage.

Let’s start today by reading the passage carefully, taking notes of anything that stands out to us. This passage comes in the context of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples just before being arrested in Gethsemane. Whilst the synoptic gospels focus on the institution of Holy Communion, or The Eucharist, at this meal, John focuses on Jesus’ teaching, dedicating 5 chapters to it!
