Acts 1:1-11 | God's Power at WorkSample

The Holy Spirit is God’s power in us. That power energizes witness. You’ll see it throughout Acts. When the Holy Spirit comes upon people, they boldly and joyfully witness to Christ. It’s almost like they can’t help themselves. And by it Jesus extends his kingdom.
Jesus tells his disciples they’ll be his witnesses. It will start where they’re at in Jerusalem. It will extend into the region around. It will cross cultural divides into Samaria. It won’t stop until it reaches the ends of the earth. Because when you come face-to-face with Jesus, it changes you. You just can’t help but want to share the joy of what Jesus has done.
Today, read Acts 1:8. Memorize it. Say it again and again, out loud or in your mind, until you get it. Then come back later and try it again. Until it becomes second nature to you. It’ll not only help you understand the rest of Acts, it’s what God wants to do through you. Then live it. Testify to what Christ has done. Trust that God will give you the power and words.
