Happily Ever After: And Everything BeforeSample

When your everyday life feels a little chaotic—when we’re dealing with the weight of big feelings and difficult circumstances—it can be easy to lose sight of our identity and purpose in Christ. Those other things have a way of getting in our heads and taking over our thoughts. When that happens, we not only lose sight of what’s important in our faith, but we also lose sight of how we can help ourselves and others through seasons like this.
So, instead of letting your mind be filled with chaos as your emotions lean to the negative, choose to fill your mind with the things of God. Humility, gentleness, patience, love—it’s all part of what God calls us to in this life. And when we let those things be first in our minds no matter what’s going on around us, we’ll find peace, joy, and happiness are much easier to come by.
Today, take time to pray that you’ll keep your focus on the things of God, not the things happening in the world. Then, ask a parent, trusted adult, or Small Group Leader to help keep you accountable and remind you of what’s true when you’re struggling to stay above the chaos.
