21-Day Fast & Prayer Into & Through Your Next SeasonSample
If you're joining this fast, it means God is calling you to something greater! You're a remnant in these times. He wants you to rebuild His kingdom right where you are planted.
I know life can be stressful and overwhelming. When God laid this fast on my heart, it was during the end of a year into a new one, and I wondered, “Why then? We already have a fast every January with our church!”
But He reminded me how many people struggle during the holiday season. It can be a time of turmoil and strife for many. And when you add family gatherings into the mix, it can be a recipe for even more tension. However, isn’t such life?
And, here's the thing: we shouldn't be surprised by these. Jesus Himself warned that there would be trouble in this world. However, He also assured us that He has overcome the world.
Just like the remnant in Ezra's time that were stirred and moved willingly to rebuild the temple, you are answering a call to take action to rebuild the community around you with the love and light of Jesus.
When Ezra proclaimed the fast, he desired protection for himself, his children, and his possessions. Isn’t that what you want for yourself, your family, and your community?
Fasting helps us refocus on God and seek His protection as we enter any season of life. Your decision to answer the call is what makes you a remnant, like the volunteers who said yes. You’re taking responsibility and seeking God’s help to rebuild your families and communities as you influence God's purpose in the lives of those around you.
Trust that if God has called you, He will equip you and empower you to build others up even as you’re rebuilt in Him. Through your love in Him, may those around you turn to Jesus and experience the amazing transformation that can only come from Him. Your purpose is to be the difference, shine His light, and rebuild in His name.
