Hope in the Shadows

DAY 1 OF 3

Day 1: Shining Light into Darkness

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus calls His followers “the light of the world.” He encourages us to let our light shine before others so that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. This call reminds us that, as believers, we have the responsibility to be sources of hope, compassion, and generosity in a world that often feels dark.

Christmas celebrates Jesus, the Light of the World, coming to a dark and hurting humanity. His birth brought hope to all who felt forgotten and oppressed. As followers of Christ, we’re called to continue His mission by showing love and compassion to others, especially during the holiday season. Acts of generosity, no matter how small, can be powerful ways to bring light to someone’s darkness.

This Christmas, reflect on how your life and actions can reflect God’s light. Giving to others, especially those in need, is a tangible way to demonstrate His love. As we serve, we allow God’s light to shine through us, bringing hope to those who may feel discouraged or overlooked.

Reflection:

• Reflect on ways you can be a light to those around you, especially during the holiday season.

• Consider the impact of simple acts of generosity and how they can brighten someone’s life.

• Think about how Jesus, the Light of the World, calls us to reflect His love to others.

• Pray for opportunities to be a source of hope and light through your actions.

Day 2

About this Plan

Hope in the Shadows

"Hope in the Shadows" is a 3-day Bible reading plan that invites us to reflect on bringing hope through generosity. Each day centers on how our actions can shine God’s light in a world of need. Through scriptures and reflections, we’re encouraged to serve others with compassion, embody Christ’s love, and uplift those in darkness, especially during the Christmas season. Let God’s light shine through you.
