Living in Increase (Part 1) - Increase in UnderstandingSample
Restoration
So far, we have looked at creation, fall, and redemption as three of four parts of the storyline of the Bible. The fourth part of the metanarrative is restoration. Not only has Christ redeemed us and put us in good standing with God through His sacrifice on the cross, but He is also coming back! There is a future aspect to the Good News. We have been saved, are being saved, and will be saved. Though we have been redeemed, there is still darkness and chaos around us. The enemy is still prowling and seeking anyone he can devour (1 Peter 5:8). In Revelation 1:7, we see Christ will return to set everything right.
We are thankful in present times and hopeful of what is to come. Everything that was distorted due to sin and the effects of sin will be made right. There will be a “new heaven and a new earth” (Isaiah 65:17). God will restore the cosmos. In times of hopelessness, be encouraged and reminded that this world is not our home. We will spend eternity enjoying communion with God through Jesus, our Savior!

Action Step: Pray this prayer: "Lord, thank You for Your perfect plan for my life and Your perfect plan for this world. I am grateful to be on the winning team! Satan is a defeated foe. Please help me live in the victory You promised for the future and the triumph accomplished by Your sacrifice. Help me remember that I am a citizen of the new heaven and earth, a kingdom in which You are King. Reign and rule over my life today and forever more. May Your name be lifted amongst all men. Amen."
