DAY 9: RESTING IN PROMISES
Prayer Topic: Pray for the ability to rest in God’s promises and find refreshment in His presence.
In a world that glorifies busyness, it can be hard to slow down and rest. Yet, Hebrews 4:9-10 reminds us that God has promised a Sabbath rest for His people. This rest isn’t just about taking a break from work; it’s about finding true rest in God’s presence. When we rest in His promises, we acknowledge that our striving isn’t what brings us closer to God—His grace is. Just as God rested after creation, He calls us to rest in Him, trusting that He is in control. Pressing on doesn’t always mean working harder. Sometimes, it means surrendering our efforts to God and allowing His rest to refresh our souls. As you press on through life’s pressures, remember to take time to rest in God’s promises. Let His peace renew your strength as you trust in His provision.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- What does true rest look like for you, and how can you find it in God’s presence?
- In what areas are you striving too much, and how can God’s promises encourage you to find peace?
