Building Wealth God’s Way: Biblical Keys to Increase Your Net-WorthSample
Welcome to this 3-day devotional on Building Wealth God’s Way! I’m so grateful you’re here! Whether you’re reading this on January 1st or later in the year, know that the timing is divine and there’s something for you to learn over the next few days!
At its core, this journey is about exploring the intersection of faith and finances, using biblical wisdom to guide how we think about, earn, and manage money. In a world that often ties wealth to status or self-worth, God invites us to view wealth as something much deeper—a tool for freedom, generosity, and service. True wealth allows us to honor God and build a legacy that reaches way beyond ourselves.
This devotional will take you through key verses from Proverbs. This is a book rich with practical advice on work, discipline, and integrity. These principles aren’t just ancient sayings; they’re timeless truths that hold the power to transform how we approach our finances.
It goes without saying: God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our financial well-being, and He’s provided wisdom to help us live free from the chains of debt.
Each day will focus on a different principle of godly wealth-building:
Day 1 explores the role of diligence as an act of worship in our work and finances.
Day 2 dives into the importance of integrity over shortcuts, challenging us to build steadily and honestly.
Day 3 highlights God’s desire for us to live debt-free, experiencing the freedom that comes from wise financial stewardship.
As we move through each day, take time to reflect, pray, and invite God into your financial journey. There’s no rush.
So! Let’s explore what it means to build wealth that honors the Father and enriches your life in ways that go beyond your bank account.

Diligence as Worship
Our financial lives are deeply connected to our faith, and Proverbs 10:4 emphasizes that diligent work is a pathway to abundance. More than just putting in hours, diligence means working with purpose, rooted in God’s calling on your life.
Finding my purpose wasn't always easy. It meant walking away from what I thought was my dream job five years ago. It meant starting my own company and hiring a team that I’m responsible for leading. And in this current stage of my life, it means going back to school as I pursue an MBA.
Although I haven’t stated it specifically, there’s a financial aspect to each of the above from starting a company to paying my staff to balancing school and entrepreneurship.
Diligence in managing finances means taking the time to budget, set goals, and follow through with integrity. It requires consistency, persistence, and a willingness to do what’s needed, even when it’s challenging.
While our journeys won’t be identical, the fact remains: God is interested in every part of your life—including your finances. As you pursue diligence, ask God to help you see each small step as part of His larger plan for your financial freedom, purpose, and His glory. He promises to bless the work of your hands as you faithfully steward what He has given you.
Financial diligence can be an act of worship.
When we work hard and responsibly steward what God has given us, we’re honoring Him. Rather than seeing diligence as just hard work, view it as a way to align yourself with God’s calling for your life.
This often means making wise choices, sacrificing temporary wants for long-term peace, and valuing the resources God has entrusted to you. Every effort becomes a reflection of your faith when done with the intention to honor God.
Reflection Questions:
- How can viewing your work and financial responsibilities as acts of worship change your approach to money?
- Think of a time when you put consistent effort into something and saw positive results. How can you apply this same mindset to your current financial goals?
See you on Day 2!
