5 Ways to Grow in Faith With Your Partner This YearSample

Day 3: Go On “Faith-Adventure Dates”
Faith isn’t meant to feel routine or stale — it’s a living, growing relationship with God and with each other. But sometimes, the busyness of daily life can make our spiritual walks feel a little predictable. That’s where “Faith-Adventure Dates” can breathe fresh life into your relationship and deepen your connection to God.
Think about what it would look like to take your faith out of the confines of your home. Not just sitting down for Bible study or a devotion (those are valuable, of course), but stepping outside of your usual routines to experience something new together. This isn’t about replacing your current practices; it’s about enhancing them with fresh, faith-focused adventures.
Start by thinking of ways to explore your faith in new settings. Maybe you go bold and visit a different church for a service — one with a different worship style that might give you a new perspective on God’s Word. Or, sign up for a faith-based conference where you can hear inspiring speakers and learn alongside other couples. These kinds of experiences can spark meaningful conversations that last long after the event is over.
If a bigger adventure sounds exciting, consider planning a couples' spiritual retreat. Spend a weekend attending an event designed to strengthen your connection while drawing closer to God. The retreat could be structured, like a relationship-focused ministry retreat, or you could plan it yourselves, like a day trip to a peaceful location with dedicated time for prayer, reflection, and heartfelt conversations.
But adventures don’t always have to be formal. Maybe a “Faith-Adventure Date” is as simple as taking a hike together. Find a trail that takes you into God’s breathtaking creation, and bring a list of your favorite Bible verses to share along the way. It’s amazing how being surrounded by nature can open your hearts to Him and to each other.
Whatever you do, the key is to make it intentional. Faith adventures aren’t just “dates with a spiritual twist.” They’re moments to stretch your routine, to grow, and to challenge yourselves to see your faith — and each other — in new ways. When you step into unfamiliar experiences together, you make room for God to meet you there and teach you something new about His love.
These adventures can also be a great way to break out of a spiritual rut. Sometimes, all we need is a fresh setting, a change of pace, or a new perspective to spark a deeper hunger for God. And sharing those moments with your partner? That’s where growth happens … together.
This week, pick one faith-filled adventure and plan it together. Whether it’s as small as visiting a new church or as big as booking a retreat, know that God will show up in the space you make for Him. And as you explore your faith in new ways, you’ll find your relationship growing stronger.
