Whom Do You Seek - EasterSample

Imagine being in the worst situation where everything seems hopeless, and a friend tells you of a miraculous incident that turns it all around. Would you find it hard to believe?
Jesus picked Mary Magdalene as one of the first to know the astounding news - “He is risen! He is not here.” She was the one “from whom He had cast out seven demons.” He showed no concern about how her reputation or social standing might make her a less credible witness to His resurrection - the news was there to be shared.
But Jesus’ disciples struggled to believe - not just once either! In fact, unbelief robbed Jesus’ disciples of immense joy and left them mourning and grief stricken when they could have been celebrating.
Often we too can lack faith when faced with a situation that challenges us, a person who is hard to deal with or a dead end that seems hopeless. Do we live with belief that God can act and that he is in control? Do we believe that his will will be done?
Jesus appeared to his unbelieving followers. He entrusted a huge and crucial mandate— tell the world the good news. And He gave them His power with this directive, to heal the sick and destroy evil, to demonstrate God’s love for all people, and to connect deeply in prayer with Him.
Today, ponder this: Is there a situation that you cannot see changing, or without hope? Where do you sit between unbelief and living in the hope and the good news of God’s sovereignty and His love, power and presence?
