After YouSample

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Romans 12:3-5 again.
- What purpose does it give for caring for one another?
- Who does it say is responsible for serving those around them?
- What instructions does it give for when we serve?
A: Application
Who could you pursue unity with by finding a way to serve them?
What would it look like for you to belong to a faith community where serving one another is a priority?
How would your life be different if serving others were a daily commitment?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer about your place in the body of Christ. Talk to God about how you can serve others well, and consider any attitudes, fears, or prejudices that hold you back. Then say thank you for God's design of giving us a faith community that can grow together.

About this Plan

We all know God wants us to love others—it’s one of the most important things Jesus taught. But let’s be honest… actually doing it? That’s not always easy, especially when life feels busy or like people aren’t easy to love. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore how Jesus shows us what loving others really looks like. We'll learn that he challenges us to move away from the world’s “me first” attitude and embrace his “after you” message as we follow his example.
