Face Your Fears 10 Day DevotionalSample

DAY 7 | FINDING REST IN GOD
When your fears rise and you start to feel frantic, you often look for ways to control the narrative, which leads to all sorts of negative behaviors. Instead, practice these three things. Stand still, be quiet, and see God work. Stop looking backward. Take a deep breath and begin to rest in God’s presence. Stop all the negative talk and the complaining, and listen for the Lord to speak. You can’t hear Him until you quiet yourself.
Finally, look for God to work. He is still with you and ready to fight for you. Seriously consider Jesus’ invitation to find rest for your soul in Him. Allow Him to teach you. Write down what burdens you need to release and how resting in God changes your perspective.
GUIDED PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, when my fear sets in, help me to stand still, be quiet, and look for You in the situation. Jesus, help me let go of all my burdens. Grant me the rest only You can give. Help me to lay down my burdens and find peace in Your presence. Show me what I need to learn from You, and help me trust You with all aspects of my life.
Amen.
About this Plan

Are your fears holding you back from God's best in your life? Do you recognize that your fear is robbing you of your faith and trust in God? We all deal with fear from time to time. God has given us this critical emotion for good reasons. But there are those times when our regular and normal fears become illogical and unreasonable. They lead us to make bad decisions that only make things worse. God is with you and HIS perfect love casts out fear.
