Strategy: The Strategic Faith of Caleb in Overcoming the Giants – a 5-Day Devotional by Allma JohnsonSample

Strategic Faith in the Face of Opposition
“Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it." — Numbers 13:30 (NKJV)
The spies had returned from scouting the Promised Land, bringing reports of its abundance, but also of the giants who dwelt there. Fear spread among the people, and they began to doubt God’s promise. Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
While the other spies focused on the giants, Caleb focused on God. He was not intimidated by the strength of the enemy but trusted in the faithfulness of the One who had led them this far. Though outnumbered and met with opposition, he remained steadfast, knowing that victory depended not on human ability but on God’s promise. His courage teaches us that obstacles don’t determine our destiny—our faith in God does. True faith stands firm, moves forward despite challenges, and trusts that God’s strength will carry us through. When we hold fast to His promises, we can be confident that He is greater than any battle we face.
Resilience:
Don’t let the size of the giants fool you—when you stand with God, there’s nothing that can stand against you.
Reflection:
When the odds seem stacked against you, how can you stand firm in your faith? What would it look like for you to trust that God is with you, no matter how great the opposition?
Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to move forward even when I feel outnumbered. Help me to trust that You are with me, and that Your power is greater than any opposition I may face. In Jesus' name, Amen.
