The Sermon on the Mount
Sometimes life has a way of making us feel weak and empty, like we will never be enough. But when the world would see this as a bad thing, God flips it upside down and makes it a great thing! When we recognize just how much we need Jesus, we are in the perfect position to be helped by Him! Jesus called this being “poor in spirit.” The next time you feel like you’re not “good enough” to live for Jesus, accept God’s invitation to depend on Him more deeply. Tell Him what you are struggling with in those moments. He may not answer in the way you expect, but God will never fail you when you put your trust in Him. Jesus promises you will be blessed.
Reflection:
What can you do when you feel poor in spirit?
Prayer
“God, thank You for all of the blessings You have placed in my life. I may not have everything I want, but I know You will give me everything I need because You love me. Please help me to depend on You, and not the things of this World. You are all I need. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Scripture
About this Plan

What do you think is the greatest predictor of spiritual health in preteens? Church attendance? Prayer? These disciplines are important, but research reveals daily engagement with God’s Word as the clearest indicator of faith that lasts. Invite a preteen in your life to take the Kids Bible Experience 30-Day Challenge! As they explore this collaborative effort from YouVersion and OneHope, they will see how God’s Word can transform their life!
