Why So Busy?Sample

I have to be!
There are a few people I love who are so busy that I fear for their future. The insane hours, the constant stress, and the lack of rest add up to my deep concern for an impending heart attack or mental breakdown.
Why are they so busy? They’re convinced they have to be. If they don’t do the work, no one will. If they don’t volunteer for the event, the event won’t happen. If they don’t step up, the whole thing will come crashing down.
Do you ever feel the same way? Your family tells you to slow down, to step back, but you can’t, because if you don’t, then what? Who will keep that ministry going? How will that organization make it? So you suck it up, power through, and find a way to make it work.
Tired friend, can I remind you today of the sovereignty of God? Sovereignty means that God is in control of all things, including the thing you fear will fail. God knows the best time to start a ministry and end it. God has the wisdom to launch a new idea and to close the chapter. You don’t need to save anything. God is good at that job.
“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church” (Ephesians 1:22 NIV). That thing you can barely carry is one of the “things” under Jesus’ feet. Let him save it if he wants to. It’s time for you to rest.
