How to Read the Bible in a Way That Makes It FunSample

Discovering something new in the old đ„žđ
Does your life feel bleak, maybe even hopeless?
I totally get that. ESPECIALLY during those times, I often find it hard to find the motivation to open Godâs Word. Reading something new? Even harder.
And you know what? Thatâs okay. Just read whatever is âclickingâ for you right now.
God doesnât force you to read a specific passage. He can meet you on any page! He doesnât force you to read His Wordâbut itâs through reading that He wants to meet you. đ
Maybe on days like this, you just read familiar passages, like Matthew 16. But, this time, ask NEW questions:
đ âWhen Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, âWho do people say the Son of Man is?â They replied, âSome say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.â âBut what about you?â He asked. âWho do you say I am?ââ(Matthew 16:13-15 NIV)
And then comes the pivotal answer:
đ âSimon Peter answered, âYou are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.ââ (Matthew 16:16 NIV)
What a moment! đĄ And here, you can ask yourself: Where exactly did this happen?
Answer: In a very pagan area, full of idols and temples. And it was here, in this place, that one of the strongest confessions about Jesus was made!
And years later? Caesarea Philippi, once a center of paganism, became a place of Christian faith! Churches were built, the Gospel spread.
Maybe it all started with Peterâs bold words in THIS place of hopelessness:
đ âYou are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.â (Matthew 16:16 NIV) đ Do you see what you can discover with NEW QUESTIONS in OLD TEXTS? (just by asking âWhere did this happen?â) The truth that:
đ God can work in the darkest places!
đ A bold confession can change the future!
đ What seems hopeless now can one day become a place of victory!
Darkness only appears dark. Godâs Word truly works and, through it, everything becomes bright again!
Open your Bible and get something NEW (through new questions!) for yourself.
You are a miracle!
