The Rescue PlanSample

When All Was Lost
Everything was good. More like, very good. Humanity walked with God in perfect peace. But then a lie shattered it all.
The serpent didn’t need force. He used questions: “Did God really say…?” With one seed of doubt, sin entered the story. Adam and Eve reached for control, and instantly everything changed. Shame, fear, blame and death flooded the world.
But right there in the middle of judgment God also made a promise.
In Genesis 3:15, He spoke of a future child, the seed of the woman, who would crush the serpent’s head. This is the first whisper of the gospel. The rescuer would be wounded but He would win.
That promise became more and more clear throughout Scripture. All of Scripture points forward to the one who would come to undo what was broken. In Romans 5 Paul explains that while sin entered through one man, Adam, salvation comes through one man, Jesus.
Jesus is the better Adam. Where Adam failed, Christ was faithful. Where sin brought death, Christ brings life. Christmas isn’t just about the birth of a baby. It is about the arrival of a Savior who invaded the devil’s kingdom to crush the serpent and rescue us from the curse.
Let’s pray: God, thank You for not walking away when we rebelled. You made a promise and You kept it. Thank You for sending Jesus to undo what sin destroyed. Help me recognize my need for rescue and trust fully in Christ today. Amen.
