Bread for the JourneySample

Our Commitment
Many people have the idea that the world is running wild like a horse that no one can catch, or like a river that has burst its banks, and there's no way to put it back in its place. This gives them a sense of chaos and lack of control that is very harmful and leads them to a state of anxiety and despair.
It is true that the world has lost its way, taking a detour that leads it to a condition of extreme and obvious wickedness and depravity. But there is a light shining in the darkness that shows the way to truth and justice. That light is Christ. “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12, NIV)
That light has not stopped shining, and through it, we had the great blessing of finding Him, receiving Him into our hearts, and following Him. Our life is illuminated with His light, and because of Him, we are also light. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14, NIV) Once we received the salvation that Christ graciously gave us, our vision of life and the world changed. We are not oblivious to the evil that is sweeping this world, but we know that God is in control.
Our God has very defined purposes, so much so that He has let us know, through His Word, the things that will happen and will be fulfilled because He has determined it. “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” (Isaiah 46:9-10, NIV)
That's right, beloved, our God is in control. There is no moment when things slip out of His hands. At this moment, it might seem like every path of man is covered in darkness, but the truth is that every Christian is a torch that illuminates, sowing hope and exalting the majesty and holiness of God. The body of Christ, made up of all the redeemed, tells the world with words and actions that there is hope.
That is our calling, that is our mission. Let's hold onto the truth that God is in control, that His purposes will be carried out, and that there is hope for everyone who receives the Savior in their heart. The world needs us because only Christ has words of eternal life; only He can lift up the fallen and give sight to the blind.
Let's feel the commitment to sow the word of faith, to spread the light of Christ, and to be witnesses of His love and grace. The world is crying out for us to do so.
