Heavy Theology | The Hardest Concepts in Christian ThoughtSample
“Come Together Right Now Ov er Me”
This one will be short, but it’s important before we get into the next attribute of God: Infinity. This one, briefly, is about unity. Or unicity as some call it.
We can’t have more than one infinity — more than one infinite being — more than one God (as distinguished from the gods). Were several to exist, none of them would really end up as infinity — to maintain a plurality of natures, each must withhold some perfection from the others.
Why aren’t there several self-existent beings?
Because a self-existent being per se must also be infinity and therefore cannot be several infinities since infinity per se assumes all infinities — even infinities in which other universes are possible. God as the source of all of those small-i infinities — that is to say the source of all infinite timelines, all infinite and possibly available spaces — is Infinity proper, united as one.
About this Plan
