A Prayer for Peace in Aftercare Homes
Dear Lord,
Today I pray for peace over Abolition International’s partner aftercare programs and over every facility in their shelter association. You provide peaceful dwelling places, secure homes, and undisturbed places of rest for your people. (Isa. 32:18) You, Jesus, are the Prince of Peace. You do not give as the world gives. You give peace! (Isa. 9:6; John 14:27) I pray for the hearts of the women and children in the restoration programs, that they would not be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27) They are transitioning from a nightmare to a place of hope, yet fear of the unknown is so often a barrier to peace of mind.
Through counsel and loving staff, teach them to fill their minds with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. (Phil. 4:8-9) I praise your name for your peace transcends understanding and guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:7)
I pray for residents to live in peace with each other, that they would be humble, gentle, and patient, bearing with one another in love. Teach them to make every effort to stay in the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace in their new home. (Eph. 4:2-4) In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, amen.
