Oswald Chambers: Joy - Strength In The LordMuestra
Measure your ultimate delight in God’s truth and joy in God by the little bit that is clear to you. There are whole tracts of God’s character unrevealed to us as yet, and we have to bow in patience until God is able to reveal the things which look so dark. The danger is lest we make the little bit of truth we do know a pinnacle on which we set ourselves to judge everyone else. It is perilously easy to make our conception of God like molten lead and pour it into our specially designed mould and then when it is cold and hard, fling it at the heads of the religious people who don’t agree with us.
The realization of the election of grace by regeneration, and of being thereby perfectly fitted for glorifying God, is the most joyful realization.
Reflection Questions: What is clear to me about God? Is it enough to make me joyful without making me judgmental? If all I know about God is all there is to know about God, what reason would I have for joy?
