Grace to Prosper
Henry Crowell, suffering from tuberculosis, was listening to the great preacher D.L. Moody. He prayed, “Lord I can’t preach. But if you help me in my business, I promise to give to build your kingdom.” Later he started the Quaker Oats company and continued to give up to 70% of his income to the Lord’s work.
Our God gives us the grace to prosper!
On the cross, when Jesus identified with our sins, He became poor. His poverty was not just spiritual, but he was physically and materially poor too.
That means because of this beautiful exchange, we receive not just spiritual riches but even physical and material wealth so that our needs will be met and we will have enough left over to share with other people.
However, this does not mean that we are exempt from working hard. If we will be irresponsible, lazy or dishonest, the grace to prosper cannot work in our lives. Faith without works is dead (James 2:20).
If we truly believe what Jesus has done for us in the area of finances, then we will learn to operate in God’s principles and receive His finished work in our lives.
2 Corinthians 9:8 - “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work”.
The grace to prosper is given for the purpose of doing ‘every good work’. Remember, if money can go through you to someone else, money will surely come to you.
Declare:
- I give, and it is given to me, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, men give to me. - Luke 6:38
- I bring the tithe and offerings to the storehouse. Let the windows of heaven be opened over my life. Rebuke the devourer for my sake. - Malachi 3:10, 11
- Let men hear of the goodness and prosperity You establish in my life. - Jeremiah 33:9
- Lord, bless me. I consider the poor. Deliver in the time of trouble, preserve me, and keep me alive. Bless me upon the earth, and deliver me not unto the will of my enemies. - Psalm 41:1-2
- All the blessings of the Lord come upon me and overtake me because I obey the voice of the Lord my God. - Deuteronomy 28:2
- Lord, remember all my offerings. - Psalm 20
- I sow into good ground, and I reap an abundant harvest. - Galatians 6:7
- Make all grace abound toward me that I will have sufficiency in all things and abound in every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:8
- Let all generations call me blessed. - Luke 1:48
- Lord, bless my latter end more than my beginning. - Job 42:12
Pray:
- Pray for open doors, new contracts, new jobs and projects to be released for all the church members. Pray each one will work hard with their hands as if working for Jesus.
- Pray that every church member would experience God’s presence and favor at their workplace as Joseph did.
