God's Gift of Money: Devotions from Time of Grace

DÍA 7 DE 14

I like my life

It takes no brains to complain.

Have you ever noticed how people (you and me too) tend to look up the ladder, never down? Above us are people who have it better than we do: better jobs; better clothes; better jewelry; better homes; better cars; and a lake home, boat, and jet skis. Deep down inside us is a seething discontent that Satan loves to manipulate and provoke. I deserve those things. I’ve been cheated. I. I. I.

That kind of talk is not Spirit talk. Flush it out of your brain. Wash it out of your mouth. We have all been outrageously blessed by a kind and generous Father. We have more than we need. We can enjoy our lives and be content. “Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction” (1 Timothy 6:6-9).

As if our material possessions weren’t enough, Christ has made us his sisters and brothers, heirs of eternal life. We are immortal.

I like my life. I will like my eternity even better.
