Reading The Bible In Historical Sequence Part 6Muestra
In 808 BC God orders Jonah to tell the people of Nineveh to repent and they do. He also sends Hosea to warn the Northern Kingdom against unfaithfulness but the people do not listen. While the Northern Kingdom is prospering economically Hosea foresees its ruin. He also foresees that much later there will be blessings for the people in God’s millennium.
Note Hosea 1:3–4: Gomer (the harlot) represents Israel; Jezreel (meaning ‘God will sow’) was the name given to the valley where Jehu slew Ahab’s 70 sons.
