DÍA 2 DE 5

Be Strong and Courageous

If you’ve ever had to step up into a new position at work, family or life in general, you understand there may be some trepidation about doing so. Am I qualified for this new position at work? What kind of husband will I be to my wife? Will I be the kind of dad my children need me to be? All great questions and here is another…are you seeking God’s direction for your life in all of those areas?

What stood out to me in verse 5 was “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” But there was a reason that God stated “Be Strong and Courageous” so many times in that chapter. We tend to forget what God has told us.

You can’t spend your days at work complaining and think you’ll get opportunities to advance. You can’t be the husband your wife needs you to be and model yourself off of other broken husbands. You can’t be the kind of dad your children need you to be if you’re trying to lead from the couch.

You may feel overwhelmed with any or all of these listed above, but as verse 5 says, “God will not leave or forsake you.” Our focus verse - We are told not to be afraid or discouraged and that God will be with us WHEREVER we go. The only thing missing from this chapter is something like…now let’s go out there and win!

Uncommen Questions:

Do you approach life with a strong and courageous attitude?

What could you do to tap into what God is encouraging you to do in Joshua 1?

Uncommen Challenge:

I challenge you to read Joshua 1 out loud to yourself every morning for the next seven days. Then when you start to go through a situation, you can reflect on what God is telling you.

ROAR - God will not leave me or forsake me! I will not be afraid; I will not be discouraged; for the LORD my God will be with me wherever I go. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Our past and present serve a purpose. In Christ, we are free from bondage and commanded to live like Christ. In this 5 day devotion, we’ll take a look at key passages scattered throughout the Bible where we’re challenged, encouraged, and commanded to live out our purpose, be bold, and ROAR.
