594 BC God tells Ezekiel in Babylon to pretend to escape from his model of Jerusalem and condemn its evil prophets and leaders. He announces Israel’s king will be exiled but blinded and the land made desolate because of Israel’s unfaithfulness.
Note Ezekiel 12:1–16: God was warning the people in Jerusalem they would have to leave the city for exile before its final destruction in order to save their lives.
