God's plan for you
This well known verse begins with real emphasis “for I myself know” where the Lord gives strong assurance of his intentions toward his people. In the past Yahweh had planned disaster against Israel but now he is planning for them shalom, peace, and harmony. God will give his people not only a “future” but a “future hope.” It is difficult to find a more wonderful promise anywhere in Scripture that expresses the tender compassion of Yahweh toward these exiles and setting before them, at last, a real reason for optimism and expectation. “The future is as bright as the promises of God.” We can all find hope and refuge in that same promise of God [Longman].
