How to Pray for Children in Poverty: 5 Prayers

DÍA 2 DE 5

Pray for Parents, Guardians, & Community Leaders

Who keeps watch over children living in poverty? For many, there’s no one. Parents often work long hours out of the house, so kids are left alone.

Today, let’s pray for a tight-knit community of parents, guardians, and community leaders to protect and watch over vulnerable children.

In our verses today, we’re challenged to rescue the weak and needy and deliver them from those who wish to harm them. Just as each of us belongs to a community—a neighborhood, a church family, an apartment building, or a workplace—children around the world need a community too.

They need adults to watch out for them and share God’s wisdom with them. They need someone to speak up for them and be their advocate.

Suggested Prayer:

“Father God, be with the parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, pastors and community leaders of these children. Make your plans and ways known to them. I ask that your wisdom would be their guide so they can help children set their foundation in you and find paths out of poverty.

Open their eyes to see evil intentions within their communities. Give them the strength and courage to fight for those who are most vulnerable.

Father, I pray for strong, godly community leaders who will advocate for the children in their communities. I pray for godly pastors to rise up and teach your Word, pouring a strong biblical foundation for the children and adults in their community.

I pray for teachers to keep a watchful eye on the well-being of their students. I pray for parents and grandparents to be filled with your hope for the future so they can encourage the young people in their lives. Protect these children, Lord. Amen.”
