Reflecting the Refiner in BusinessMuestra
God’s Purifying Reveals The Real You
God’s purifying reveals the real you, and the real you reveals His glory in the earth. In other words, purity produces authenticity, and authenticity is very important if we are to be representing Jesus Christ in the marketplace. You can’t adequately reflect the King of kings that you don’t know, but you also cannot most powerfully reflect Him without knowing who you are in Him.
Knowing who you are in Christ begins with intimacy with the Father, with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit. Intimacy will reveal your identity in Christ; who you are as a son (or daughter), as a king and priest, as a faithful servant and friend. It will also reveal your uniqueness, without the personas, the masks, and false perceptions that are often a result of circumstances, past hurts, fears, and expectations of others.
Purification isn’t about behavior modification as much as it is about heart transformation because change results from the transformation of heart and mind. The purifying process should be a prayer that not only says “Father, burn everything that is not like You” but should also include “Burn everything that is not like me in You.” If something isn’t the real authentic you, you don’t want that either!
God's purifying brings freedom to exhibit the light of Christ as an expression of who He is through you. Every gift God has placed on the inside of you is intentional, and every characteristic (such as your gender, ethnicity, your personality, your style, your quirks) is all by His design too! You are a unique expression of God to the world and the world is eagerly awaiting a manifestation of all of you in all of Christ.
