Meeting Jesus and Following HimMuestra

Meeting Jesus and Following Him

DÍA 3 DE 7

 SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST

So, salvation is not a question of intelligence, nor of capabilities, or even good works, it is available to everyone because it is a revelation in our heart of who Jesus is and of what He has accomplished. That is why Jesus was able to say to the criminal who was crucified next to Him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise”. (cf. Luke 23 :43). Many people believe  that they have to achieve a great number of things in order to be saved or accepted by God. They think that salvation is something that is complicated to achieve, whereas salvation is really simple, it is a demonstration of who Jesus is and what He has done on the cross. It is the result of the grace of God, which reflects His unmerited love for us (cf. Romans 5 :8).

Be careful not to complicate the message of salvation for the people around us. We will never be able to convince whoever ; on the other hand, we can present the simplicity of the message of grace and pray that God works in the heart to give revelation. Our works serve for nothing when it comes to salvation, everything that we could do won’t change anyone and nobody is able to reach God in their own strength. It is for this reason that we all need to meet Jesus and to abandon ourselves to Him…

Salvation is the result of our act of faith and the works or the actions follow this decision of faith. To be saved, is to pass from the darkness into the light and to be forgiven of all of our sins (cf. 1 Peter 2 :9). To be a disciple, it isn’t just simply meeting Jesus, it isn’t a one time action, it’s a process : to follow Him because it is then about walking in this light. To do this, we have to stay in communion with Jesus, by consecrating our lives to Him each day, according to what Paul tells us in Romans 12 :1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, Holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.” It is to make a choice, day after day, to follow Him, to a fulfil His will, and to do it even if we don’t know precisely what lies ahead, or what the cost will be… The revelation – “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” – that we have of Jesus drives us to say “YES”  unconditionally. Let us adopt and keep these ways of living with Jesus : where You want, when You want, how You want and what You want !

REFLECTIONS :

Salvation is not a question of intelligence, of capabilities, or even good works, it is a revelation in our heart

Read Romans 3 :28 and Ephesians 2 :8-9 and take a moment to answer the following questions :

Is there anything I can do to earn my salvation ?

What is the perfect plan that God created in order that salvation is available to all ?

MY DECISION :

What I have understood for my own personal life :

What I am deciding to do in my life based upon what I have just learnt :

What you decide to do today will determine who and what you will be tomorrow !
