Bury Your UnbeliefMuestra
Area of Unbelief #4: Disaster
In today’s passage, we find Paul and Silas in prison at midnight. Did you see what they were doing? Were they asking, “Where is God? I cannot believe He deserted us. We are so good. We preach the gospel. Then we get in trouble and He looks the other way.” No! What did they begin to do? They began to praise God “and immediately, all the doors and everyone’s chains were loosed” (verse 26). Please realize that it was not just their chains that were loosed; It was everybody’s chains. Your faith affects the people around you.
As I write this, the whole world is in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are facing what looks like a disaster. Should we fall apart? Have a nervous breakdown? I do not think so. Faith pleases God. If I want to whine and murmur about it, that does not please God. It can take a long time for deliverance in certain situations, and there may be some things we do not understand. We need to trust God and bury our unbelief that says God cannot bring our freedom from disaster or destructive situations.
Prayer and praise will change your circumstances and you can worship anywhere. God has miracles with your name on them. Do not miss them! When you face tough circumstances, do not fall apart. Instead, grab onto God and have faith in His delivering power.
Ask yourself: Do I have a situation in my life that looks bleak or even hopeless? Have I used prayer and praise to increase my faith so I can get through this situation?
