Who Is God?Muestra
God is love
God is love, both within the Holy Trinity and towards creation. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit love each other, and they have the same love towards humans. See for example what Jesus said: “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.” (John 15:9).
The clearest expression of God’s love towards humanity is phrased in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”. That is incredible. Humans have disobeyed God and therefore deserve eternal death. But God is prepared to give his own life for these disobedient people, so that they can have eternal life instead.
Being loved so much should encourage believers to love their fellow humans as well. Jesus commands in John 13:34: “Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
