The Warrior’s Bride: Military Family ResiliencyMuestra
THE CALLING OF THE WARRIOR
Here in the United States, we love our independence. We fight for democracy, wanting everyone to have an equal vote in how things run and change. Yet, that’s not exactly how God wanted it to be. God created a hierarchy with Himself at the top, handing out instructions on what each of us is to do. And in His perfect plan, He called your man to plan for, train for, and participate in war.
You may not like that.
Maybe God hasn’t asked him to stay within the military for a full career, or maybe his career will last well past twenty years. Maybe he will never deploy to a war zone, or maybe he will give his life on the battlefield protecting another. I don’t know.
What I do know is that in this moment, right now, God has called him to stand between you and me and evil.
Have you ever thought of it that way? When you get past all the long hours, the difficult orders, and the stressful deployments, that is what God is asking your man to do. In our time where Satan reigns on this earth, God selected men to stand and fight. To look evil in the eye and say, “No more.”
And it is God who prepares him for it. It is God who strengthens his body and quickens his feet. It is God who steadies his balance and trains his hands for battle. It is God who clears the way before him.
It is God.
Consider:
- What comes to mind when you think about God preparing your husband for battle?
Pray:
Father, help me to remember that it is You who called my husband to battle, and it is You who will prepare him for all You are asking him to do. Steady my heart and help me trust Your plan.

Acerca de este Plan
The military asks a lot of its members and their families: moving, long distance relationships, changing plans and changing plans again. Uncertainty and barely managed chaos seem to be the order of the day. But you don’t have to merely survive. No matter what the government throws at your family, you can thrive as your warrior’s bride.
