“Tune my Heartstrings to You

Let the words I say resonate with You.”

Have you ever heard an out of tune instrument? Depending on your sensitivity to sound, you might not notice, or it might even be physically painful! The more out of tune an instrument is, the more disruptive and “lonely” it gets. The good news is, out of tune instruments can be retuned!

Even the best instruments need to be retuned regularly- they fluctuate based off of how often they get played, the older they get, and even the weather can effect the way an instrument and make it lose its tune.

We were designed as instruments of worship. However, just like musical instruments, we tend to go “out of tune” with God over time. Challenging situations, the older we get, and sometimes even the weather can affect our outlook.

It’s important to remember two things however:

1. We need to be “re-tuned” regularly.

2. We need to be “re-tuned” to God - not the other way around. 

Sometimes we’d rather question the goodness of God than question our own “tuning.” The Holy Spirit reminds us, however, that regardless of the external chaos and the amount of time we might have spent “out of tune,” that we can come back to Him and be “re-tuned” so that we resonate with Him.
