DÍA 2 DE 5

Prince of Peace

"What means this glory round our feet,"

The Magi mused, "more bright than morn!"

And voices chanted clear and sweet,

"Today the Prince of Peace is born!"

- Hymn: What Means This Glory Round Our Feet

Jesus isn't immune to the pain and suffering of our world. He was born in a culture rife with pain and oppression. People were convinced the Messiah would deliver them from this oppression, overthrowing the Roman culture and bringing someone better into political power. But to their disbelief — and often to ours — Jesus didn't do that. Instead, He offered freedom from sin, and along with that, a new vision for how to live: a life based out of love instead of fear, one that sacrifices, puts others first and even forgives enemies. It's the kind of vision that leads to a person who's known as the Prince of Peace.

Even when our external circumstances are chaotic and painful, we can find peace through the Prince of Peace. Jesus, Himself is our peace. Not only does Jesus give us peace, but He is our peace. Micah 5:5 says, "And He will be our peace."

We can ask Jesus to give us peace, but we can also ask Jesus to remind us that because we have Him, we already have access to the Prince of Peace.

Everything in our lives has the opportunity to draw us into deeper union with Jesus. Consider how you might draw deeper into the Prince of Peace in your present circumstance.
