The Life Of A Worship Leader

DÍA 14 DE 30

Dwell and Take Refuge

“I long to dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.”- ‪Psalm 61‬‬‬‬:4

It’s comforting to know that, even though we may endure times of sorrow, God is ever present to see us through joy. We are able to sing songs of praise because He makes all things new. Even when we feel abandoned, we are never without the Lord.

Our worship to God is dictated by His truth and through the means that Christ makes possible. He also uses our human emotions to draw us near and to lead us to confession.

In this Psalm, David is still grieving over his sin in Psalm 51. He is calling out to God for assurance of His favor. He desires to dwell in God's tabernacle for safety. At the same time, he commemorates his refuge that is found in God alone.

Today, we no longer have to seek a tabernacle or the sacrifices of an animal to draw near to God. Through Christ, our hearts have been transformed into the place of His dwelling. We now carry the tabernacle of God, which He has become our refuge and rest.

David is longing and speaks of a heavenly dwelling in God’s presence forever. Now, His presence is made available to us today and our place is reserved in heaven as our final home.

Those who dwell in the tabernacle of God dwell in His safety and delight. Even in times of trouble, the Lord is our strength and renews our faces each day, by giving songs of gladness to the heart.
