DÍA 3 DE 5

Time for a Reset

Each year, the college football coaching carousel is wild with multiple hirings, firings, and resignations among the nation’s top programs.

All of the changes indicate the need for teams to reset and allow for a realigned vision, a new identity, changes to the culture, a fresh perspective, and different emphasized priorities.

The definition of reset is “to set again: to set, adjust, or fix in a new or different way: to reset priorities.”

As followers of Jesus, many of us require a reset of our own. We may need to be adjusted and fixed just as college football teams do.

For those of us unhappy with our current status, and the direction things are heading, there's an acronym that can help us RESET our lives, along with Scripture references to encourage us:

R—Realign Our Vision

What does God want for our lives and what is He asking us to do? Does the vision we’re pursuing align with His? (Proverbs 3:6)

E—Embrace Our Identity in Christ

Oftentimes, we get off track because we forget who we are and Whose we are. We must reset and embrace the truth that we’ve been made new as a child of God. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

S—Shift Our Priorities

What is most important in our lives and are the wrong things our focus? What do we need to emphasize instead? (Matthew 6:33)

E—Examine What Changes Need to be Made

What aspects of our lives and walk with Jesus need to be adjusted? We must pray and ask God to reveal the necessary changes required and what steps to take. (Lamentations 3:40)

T—Transform Your Attitude and Perspective

We ought to reset our attitudes about life and our perspective on circumstances. Instead of being so negative, we should saturate our minds and hearts with Scripture and remain surrendered to God. (Romans 12:2)

Today, let’s ask God to identify where we need a reset in our lives and allow Him to change our hearts so our vision, priorities, attitude, and perspective remain aligned with His.

I’m Bryce Johnson and you can UNPACK that!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please show me the areas of my life that need to be “reset” and reveal to me the next steps You want me to take. Thank you for Your transforming work in my heart. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
