ReroutingMuestra
What does it look like to truly follow someone? I’m not talking about trailing behind someone as they drive or clicking the “follow” button on an influential person’s social media. I’m talking about doing whatever it takes to actually walk in someone’s path. To follow in their footsteps. To be so close that if you looked down, it would seem like there was only one path of prints left on the ground. Often in the movies, if a character is following someone’s footsteps that closely, it means they’re trying to avoid some sort of danger—something just outside of their line of sight or something that can lead them to where they definitely don’t want to be. It’s a danger that they know could hurt them if they even stepped one toe out of line. Though not as dramatic as the movies, our everyday lives can sometimes feel just as dangerous. We know that people and situations all around us are pushing and pulling us away from the path that God sets before us. In those moments, it’s important to remember that God has already created a path for our safety. Not only that, but Christ has gone ahead to prepare a way for us. He wants to guide us as we take our next steps—steps that He has already planned out for our good. All we have to do is follow!

No matter the destination you’re trying to reach, the journey to get there comes with twists and turns instead of a straight path. We often have to reroute. In this devotional we’ll dive into what it looks like to reroute and find a new map along the journey. We’ll see many examples of God working to fulfill the plans He created for us.
