Be an Angel: 5 Days of Inspiration and Encouragement

DÍA 4 DE 5

Some years ago, doctors diagnosed our son, Cameron, with a brain tumor. Our entire world seemed upside down as we met with neurosurgeons and oncologists. A teenager at the time, our son should have been in the prime of his life! While his cancer caught us completely by surprise, I am very grateful that Cameron’s illness did not catch God by surprise.

God carried our family through exhausting days at the hospital, through months of recovery, through wondering if Cameron would ever walk again, through endless questions, prayers, and tears. . . . Knowing that God would not leave us was the lifegiving, hopeful, and empowering truth we needed. Praise God, Cameron made a miraculous recovery.

In the book of Exodus, God proclaims, “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared” (23:20). I’ve experienced this same sense of His presence and protection, bringing me to every place He has prepared. I haven’t always liked where the path leads, at least not immediately. . . I can affirm, however, that even the dark places of my journey have led me to something good when I go with God. I pray God helps you see the same, dear friend.

Be an Angel: Loneliness isn’t simply a feeling to endure; it can also reveal something about us. When do you feel most alone? How does that help you better understand yourself? How might you go with God in your lonely moments?
