Becoming a Son That Pleases the FatherMuestra
STARTING OUT ON THE FATHER’S LOVE (2)
When a criminal is being mangled, there is a mother somewhere that loves him. That is the power of love! That power of love gives a man what he doesn't deserve. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, so, trying to get God’s love should not be the goal or pursuit of a Christian. You won't ever grow as a Christian and neither will you ever please the Father if you are pursuing God to love you because that is not the purpose of Christianity. A Christian that pursues the love of God will remain a midget, confused, and just a little bit different from an unbeliever.
God does not love us because of our efforts. Nothing will stop Christ from loving you. God told Jeremiah that He loved him with an everlasting love (Jer. 31:3) and He’s saying the same to us today. God still loves those that go to hell. It is actually the love of God that sends sinners to hell because if a sinner is brought to heaven, the holiness of God will torment that sinner more than the fire of hell. The heat of hell's fire is not as hot as the heat of God's holiness. God is a consuming fire; He consumes what is consumable and sin is consumable. So, if a sinner comes to heaven, he will suffer more from the holiness of God than from the fire in hell. All a sinner needs is just one second in the presence of the Father’s holiness and he would plead for mercy to be sent to hell because he won’t be able to stand it. That is why throughout the Old Testament, men fell in repentance when they got to the presence of God, no matter how good they supposedly were.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to focus on the right pursuit in moving into the phase of pleasing the Father in Jesus’ name. Amen!
