Before the British settled in Australia, the original inhabitants had been here for perhaps 40,000 years. And yet, God was preparing their hearts for the knowledge of Christ at the time he appointed. The oneness of humanity is made possible across time and cultures by the blood of Jesus Christ, bringing salvation to all. Christians in Australia grieve the wrongs committed against our indigenous people, but thank God for the reach of the gospel to the ends of the earth.

In what practical ways can you express the one-ness of all people, across boundaries of race, culture and class, through the gospel of Christ?

Lord God, we are all your children in creation and your adopted children in Christ. Teach us the humility we require to love each other as neighbours at all times. Amen.
