Beneath the Surface

DÍA 25 DE 28

When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, God gave them a cloud to follow during the day and a pillar of fire to follow at night. They never had to worry about knowing whether or not they were on the right path. There was literally a giant symbol in the sky to make sure they never got off track.

Doesn't that sound kind of nice? So often, we talk about the purpose to our lives like it's a guessing game or a mystery to solve. But the Israelites didn't have to think about following God like that. All they had to do was follow God's presence.

Believe it or not, that's still true for us today. Sure, you don't have a pillar of fire in the sky, but God does tell us what it is like to follow the guidance we're given.

In Psalm 23, David writes that following God is like a sheep following a shepherd in a peaceful valley. David says that we don't need to fear evil or worry about any enemies, because God is guiding us along the right paths.

As you read through Psalm 23, you can take comfort in knowing that even though you can't see a cloud or a pillar of fire guiding your steps, you can still trust that God is leading you. When God is leading you, you can be sure that you'll feel a sense of peace. It may not look the way we expect it to, but God will provide it.
