The Search For Identity

DÍA 9 DE 10

EPISTLE OF CHRIST We are the fifth gospel of Christ or the continuing epistle that the Lord writes. Each of our lives is a gospel pronouncing the goodness of God in our lives. The ten commandments were written on stone by the finger of God but the gospel which is nothing but the saving act of God in our lives, from the consequences of disobeying one or other command, is written in our hearts and minds by the Spirit of God. The Word is internalized by us. It is hidden in our hearts. It is a precious and valuable central part of our lives. It leads us. It guides us. It motivates us. It writes out the message of our lives. Our flesh becomes an envelope for that message to be carried. Once the message is delivered to whom it is meant, the envelope is no longer needed. Once the love of God is manifest in our lives, our life's manifesto is to publish the good news about Him. We are like a letter written by God to all mankind. People see the things we speak and do and realize how God has made a difference in our lives. We are writing our version of the epistle to the church and to the world day by day and hour by hour. Just as the Holy Spirit inspired and guided the early believers and apostles to write the epistles to the churches in various places where they had ministered, He guides and inspires living words in our hearts that will bring hope and meaning into the lives of the readers. People are constantly but silently reading our minds, our motives, our emotions and our actions. They derive meaning and hope from what they read in our lives. Particularly, the people we are ministering to read and adhere to every word we write. Our hearts must be sensitive and not stony or unresponsive to their spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical needs. We are not apostles but epistles of Christ.
