Act Justly

DÍA 1 DE 3

If we want to know justice, we must first know God. God’s character is the foundation of justice, and we get to know what God is like through the Word and through Jesus. In Psalm 103, the Psalmist reflects on who God is and praises God, even in the midst of mentioning things like death, disease, and sin. Experiencing these things shouldn't push us away from God– it should lead us to know God better!

We know that the “wrongs” of the world happen in small, intimate ways and in large, communal ways. We know that some wrongs are more simple to fix, and some injustices are so big or painful that they seem impossible to be made right. But the good news is that God is just, and God loves justice. And what’s more: God can be trusted to right the injustices of the world, and he is calling us to be people who join in the Psalmist’s praise and help bring justice to the earth!

Reflection Questions:

In Psalm 103, the psalmist is meditating on God’s character. What does God’s character reveal to you about justice?

How are God’s mercy and compassion related to God’s justice? Why do you think God wants us to love mercy?
