God's Plan With the NightMuestra
Interpret dreams.
Maybe you have already noticed it: dreams can be very strange. A few dreams that are written in the Bible are also kind of odd. They are not literal but symbolic. That makes it hard sometimes to figure out the message behind them. God uses this symbolic language to speak through, and it requires another way of listening.
In Scripture, you read that God is the One Who explains the dreams. He does this to the dreamer or through a dream interpreter. But God is clear: the interpretation of a dream comes from Him. To be able to interpret dreams, it requires having a relationship with the Holy Spirit and the ability to hear God’s voice.
When God uses a dream interpreter, it’s because the receiver of the dream doesn’t have a relationship with God yet. Nebuchadnezzar, the baker and the cupbearer, were people that didn’t know God yet, but they got a dream that kept them occupied. They must have felt that this was no ordinary dream. God uses Daniël and Joseph to interpret the dreams.
But why does God sometimes speak in a symbolic language? Let’s take a look at Jesus. He often spoke in parables and metaphors. Think about all of those stories He told, with a deeper meaning hidden in them. He knew that when the listener would think for himself and find the message within the story, it would root deeper. It would touch the heart, and that is what God is after our heart. He doesn’t want for us to just know about Him, God wants us to know Him.
This symbolic way of speaking is not a hide-and-seek game that He is playing with us. It is an invitation to come to Him and listen to what He really says and to get to know His heart in a new way.
