Everyday Life in Revelation Part 10: The Final DayMuestra
How should we respond when we see the enemies of the kingdom of God fall? We find the answer in this reading. It might seem strange for us to be glad when those who oppose King Jesus and His church are defeated. I argue the idea of loving those far from God and rejoicing in their defeat are not opposed. We can pray and should pray for God’s justice in this world, and we should pray for God’s enemies to be defeated by God. And at the same time, we can love our neighbors and we can pray for those who wish our harm. We are expected to do both things.
We should not shed tears for those nations and leaders that have murdered believers and who have spread wickedness and immorality around the world. Heaven does not mourn when such evil comes to an end. Rather, they will praise God for showing His justice in the end.
Today, let us have confidence that God’s justice will reign supreme. In the meantime, let us pray for our friends and for our family who are far from God. We pray for them. And we live to share the gospel so they might surrender to King Jesus rather than experience a just judgment.
