Fearless MotherhoodMuestra
Fear of Lack
As mothers, it's natural to desire to give our children the whole world. Yet, sometimes we doubt our ability to provide even the basics like clothes, food, and a safe place to sleep. I've certainly had my moments like this. Maybe you're a single mom, or you're married and your family is going through financial difficulties, feeling uncertain about the future. Fear of lack can definitely be overwhelming. But no matter where you are, I want to remind you to keep your focus on Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees a need and meets it – our provider.
Consider the story of Hagar, wandering in the wilderness with her son, Ishmael, after being cast out by Abraham. They had run out of water and food, and Hagar was so desperate she couldn't bear to watch her son suffer and die. God heard her cries, comforted her, and promised that Ishmael would become a great nation. Then, miraculously, He revealed to her a well of water nearby.
Just like this story, I believe there are hidden blessings from God that we have yet to discover. When we trust Him to meet all our needs, we can walk in peace amidst the unknown. His Word says in Psalm 34:10, “Even strong lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” (NLT) Mom, you don’t need to fear; God will provide for you and your children.
Prayer,
Heavenly Father, I thank You that I'm not alone in this journey. As Your daughter, I trust You to provide for all my needs. I let go of any fear of lack and choose to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that You are a loving Father who desires and is capable of caring for Your children. I'll set aside my pride and ask for help when I need it. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
