Silence: Its Power and Necessity
Revelation 8:1 - When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
Silence is necessary to extinguish the constant bombardment of human voices. This is of utmost importance if we want to make room to hear God's voice. There are many voices that speak to us all day and they come in the form of newspapers, magazines, television, radio, billboards, posters, emails, WhatsApp messages and the Internet. There are the voices of the opinions of people, authority figures and preachers.
We hear the voices of books that we read or have read in the past. Our own ambitions, dreams, desires and urges form part of the noise. In addition to that, we are constantly dealing with the voices that come from our past. Perhaps the words of our father showing disappointment when we failed to do something, the words of an unfair teacher, painful words that our friends may have spoken to us and the continual mental battle that undoubtedly went into figuring out what was acceptable and what was not. Culture, traditions and the communities that we grew up in would have been a constant voice trying to dictate how our lives should be lived.

Acerca de este Plan
Without us knowing it, we need silence. During times of silence, we can become still before God and listen again. The voices of the world and even my own thoughts become muted. We need these times to refocus on God and understand who we are.
