Hope: A Courageous Journey of FaithMuestra
DEVOTION - TODAY'S DISCUSSION
These days we seldom have to wait patiently for an answer or request. Today, we expect everything at lightning speed and assume tomorrow’s response will probably arrive even faster!
So it’s easy to start expecting God to work this way; that we’ll pray in the morning and have an answer by lunch. We think God isn't listening because it’s taking so long.
God wants us to wait with patient endurance for answers and then, watch "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful" (Colossians 4:2 NIV). Waiting on God is how we were designed so that we would be always aware of Him at every moment.
What are you waiting for? God's timing coupled with our patience renews our strength, increases trust (faith), ensures obedience, and leads us to peace. Can you be patient with God?
FROM "TAYLOR'S GIFT" THE BOOK
“You’ve changed,” she said, her warm cheek pressed against mine. “In the past, you would have made a decision and followed up on it, but now it’s as if you’re waiting for something,” she said.
That night, we discussed all the what-ifs. I didn’t have many answers except to say I was trusting God to do it. If He called me, He would equip me.
“I agree. He will take care of us,” Tara said. “And you’ve always taken care of us. Honestly, though, it scares me a little bit.”
I didn’t say anything out loud, but I thought, It scares me too.
TODAY'S REFLECTIONS
Are you willing to wait for God's timing and sovereign answer, or do you expect Him to deliver answers and solutions right now?
Pray today for patient endurance. Ask God first, take a deep breath, and focus your mind on peacefully soaring with Him while waiting to hear His answer.
