You Must Be Patient
What are you waiting for today?
Are you waiting on a job? A new career? Maybe you're waiting on a relationship? Maybe you're waiting for healing? Maybe you're waiting for the pain of life just to diminish? Or perhaps you're in a storm right now and you're waiting for that situation to resolve itself and for life to get easier.
We all hate to wait. But we can be encouraged by a promise from God we find in Psalm 27:14
“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
Are you in the season of waiting today? Sometimes it may seem like your season of waiting will never end, and we get impatient and want things to sort themselves out already! But according to God's Word, miracles happen in the waiting.
Time spent waiting on God is never wasted.
Even when you can't see it, God is always working, always forming and transforming you as you wait on Him. Sometimes we only see life in hindsight. It's like we often miss God in the middle of a situation, and we only see what He was doing when we look back.
So here's our challenge. Can we trust God in the middle? Can you trust that even though you may not have an answer yet, God is working all things together for your good and His glory?
Let's read Psalm 27 again. Nice and slow this time. Linger on God's promise to you. Say it out loud.
“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
Let's invite the Lord into your waiting with a breath prayer based on Psalm 27. Are you ready? Relax your body. Sit up straight if you are able. Quiet your mind. Settle your soul.
Take a deep breath and inhale:
"I will wait for you, Lord."
Exhale:
"Give me strength and courage."
Again, deep breath in:
"I will wait for you, Lord."
Deep breath out:
"Give me strength and courage."
One more time. Remember, this is a vow between you and God. Inhale:
"I will wait for you, Lord."
Exhale:
"Give me strength and courage."
PRAYER:
Lord, as we wait on you today, we're holding all sorts of prayers and requests and hopes for breakthrough. And so, we just surrender to your timing. You know best, Jesus. Your will is good, pleasing, and perfect. So may your will be done, not mine.
God, Would you help me as I wait today? Holy Spirit, I ask for the supernatural strength, courage, and patience of Christ today. We're believing in your breakthrough.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
